Layering & warmth

Autumn is such an exciting time of year. Plus, once every two years, it's twice as good, as we have the greatest golf tournament in the world to look forward to; The Solheim Cup.
We've seen all sorts of golf played out so far this year on the LPGA Tour. Will Suzann Pettersen's European squad be able to claim the title and extend Europe being in possession of the cup for another two years? Or will Stacy Lewis' troop of Americans be taking it home with them?
If watching the greatest players in the world take each other in Spain will have you itching for some golf yourself, you'll need to be prepared for the changing conditions as the autumn seasons gets underway.
Layering up
Now that we’re midway through September, you may well have your thoughts on the coming colder winter months. Winter golf is a different animal altogether when compared to playing in the height of summer, so it’s important you’re prepared and equipped with the appropriate clothing.
One of the reasons the interim period between the warmer and colder seasons can be so difficult to anticipate is climate. We’ve all been there where we’ve been caught in the rain without a proper waterproof on, or stepped out onto the course on a freezing day without a decently insulating mid-layer. Not being prepared for the weather really disrupts our concentration and stops us from enjoying our golf.
Rather than sticking on any old jacket, winter golf clothing is specifically designed to keep you warm and focused when out on the course. The materials used are stretchy and comfy to give you that desirable combination of freedom of movement to swing your clubs freely and a warm snug core.
We’re so excited to announce that we now have the latest winter golf clothing from adidas lining the shelves of our pro shop! You can be among the first to try on one of these stunning pieces.
Please read on as we give you a rundown of some of the fantastic mid-layers that are guaranteed to keep you cozy this winter.
The Ultimage365 Tour Frostguard Vest

This stylish vest from adidas is a delightful red colour, and is also available in a straight black colourway. The vest is a fantastic garment for warming your core while also keeping your arms free to swing your clubs naturally. The Frostguard Vest also features zip pockets on either side of the waist, which is perfect for keeping your hands warm and carrying smaller items.
The Essentials Dot Polo

This delightful polo shirt from adidas is a straightforward single colour that runs all over the piece. The Essentials Dot Polo has a slightly curved hem, and a contrast style on the collar and sleeve cuffs. The shirt is made from a stretchy polyester, which will give you absolute freedom of movement to turn your body untroubled through your golf swing.
The Essentials Long Sleeve Printed Mock Polo

This piece really stands out to us, and if you’re a fan of interesting colours and styles, you’ll be a fan of it too. The Long Sleeve Mock Polo features an intricate multi-colour print that covers the torso and runs down each sleeve. The back of the piece is a solid colour. We’ll need to wrap up warm over the winter period, and this garment is perfect for layering under waterproof jackets.
The Rain.RDY Jacket

This Rain.RDY Jacket is a heavy-duty article of clothing that will have any rainfall rolling right off you, rather than sinking into your clothing. The jacket is a stretchy polyester material so you’ll still have a whole range of motion in your upper body without feeling weighed down at all. The piece is a solid colour with a contrasting colour appearing on the zip, breast pocket, and the adidas logo that sits on the collar.
Adidas makes the highest quality golf clothing on the market. If you’re on the lookout for a new mid-layer this autumn and you’re unsure of which jacket is the one for you, we’d be more than happy to show you our selection of winter golf clothing in the pro shop.
